Senior Technical Inside Sales Representative

SUMMARY

Review customer specifications and requirements to select and price equipment, provide quotes, answer customer inquiries, assist in sales presentations, and close orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide direct support to existing customers to identify their needs and help solve their problems or complaints. Work with Field Sales and internal resources to develop new customers within the defined market.
  2. Promote team efforts in selling by acting as the internal advocate and liaison for TECO-Westinghouse Motors (Canada) Inc. (TWMI) Field Sales and customers. Internally coordinate TWMI's sales approach across all parties in the procurement process: EPC, OEM, Distributor, and User. Conduct correspondence and negotiations with customers and TWMI.
  3. Provide customer service, inside sales, and technical support to Canadian customers for TWMI’s motor and control products.
  4. Train and provide technical guidance to less experienced teammates.
  5. Utilize TWMI’s SAP system for stock checks, order entry functions, report creation, and daily verification of order entries.
  6. Contribute ideas to further the growth and development of TWMI’s marketplace presence.
  7. Review customer-generated RFQs, provide quotations per company guidelines, and interpret customer specifications, applications, or engineering documents. Understand related standards like NEMA MG1, CSA, or others for electric motors. Compile information and prepare quotations from factory price guidelines or request engineering quotations from the factory.
  8. Work with project management for support and guidance when needed.
  9. Prepare technical documents transmitting customer orders to engineering.
  10. Maintain negotiation records, costs, and prices. Negotiate motor inquiries and gain proficiency in order entry processes.
  11. Assist with customer presentations and assemble complete technical and commercial proposal data on time. Provide marketing literature as needed.
  12. Gain comprehensive product knowledge of all products.
  13. Follow sales plans and strategies.
  14. Be aware of antitrust laws and company policies.
  15. Familiarize with customer business practices and procedures related to duties.
  16. Comply with all company policies, including ISO 9001 standards and safety procedures.
  17. Maintain regular attendance as an essential function.
  18. Perform other functions as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; or 5-7 years related experience and/or training with electric motors or industrial products; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, standards, operating and maintenance instructions, white papers, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
