Our client, a manufacturer of cutting-edge fashion trends for Mens and Womenswear, is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer to join their team. The role involves working on menswear and outerwear for both men and women.

The primary function of the Senior Technical Designer is to support the director of merchandising and design with research and development activities. Responsibilities include trend research, fabric direction, sketching, creating artwork, tech packs, and line sheets tailored to customer needs, all while meeting deadlines.

The candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate with internal teams and external partners, and oversee communication with overseas factories. Effective time management, prioritization, and handling multiple demands are essential skills.

Responsibilities

• Research & Development (R&D): trend research (online, samples, trip photos), fabrics, colors, bodies
• Technical sketching of bodies and storyboarding
• Preparing final selection boards, ensuring accuracy of style numbers, fabrics, and colors
• Developing initial production plans and customer style flow
• Daily communication with internal teams and overseas factories
• Executing all responsibilities in a timely manner

Requirements

• College Degree or University certificate in fashion design
• Technical background in fashion design
• 5+ years of experience in similar roles and the fashion industry
• 5+ years of experience with fabrics

An Asset

• Experience with outerwear
• Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Good command of spoken French (written and spoken)
• Strong attention to detail and team-oriented mindset
