Job description

Position overview

We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Senior Technical Analyst - Network in the Infrastructure department. Reporting to the Manager, Technology Services, the Senior Technical Analyst will be responsible for determining the required strategy and technical architecture, leading technical decisions, managing projects and operational activities, guiding resources, managing vendors, identifying improvements, and presenting to senior management.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing strategies for systems in the assigned portfolio, including enhancements, patching, security, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery, aligned with business and IT requirements.
  2. Creating Preventative Maintenance Plans and troubleshooting guides in collaboration with suppliers.
  3. Writing IRFs and PARs, and preparing all necessary PMO documentation.
  4. Gathering technical requirements and designing inputs for system components.
  5. Creating process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide resources.
  6. Conducting peer reviews of requirements to ensure accurate interpretation.
  7. Managing hardware and software contracts, including licensing, to ensure compliance and coverage.
  8. Preparing and reviewing technical support documentation, interacting with customers, team members, contractors, and support teams during transitions.

Key qualifications include:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, with 10+ years of experience supporting and delivering IT systems in Microsoft, Cisco, Linux, and Azure/AWS environments.
  2. Formal certifications such as Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNP, CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, AWS Solutions Architect, or F5-CTS are required.
  3. Knowledge of underlying technologies of assigned systems.
  4. Strong vendor, project, and relationship management skills.
  5. Organizational, leadership, coaching, mentoring, negotiating, facilitating, and documentation skills.
  6. Experience with Cloud platforms, preferably Azure.

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous performance will be considered for internal candidates. Short-listed candidates may undergo assessments.

Salary Range: $99,945 to $130,621 per annum, based on a 37.5-hour work week, tailored to experience and qualifications.
