EVR is proud to be part of the Glencore Group, contributing to a global portfolio of operations with a history that dates back more than 100 years in Canada.

Application Deadline: September 17th, 2025

What we offer

At EVR, we\'re dedicated to supporting our workforce on their unique career journeys. EVR recognizes our employees\' skills, competencies, and performance and offers opportunities with competitive compensation and benefits. We also aim to promote employee health and wellness and provide opportunities for professional development. We believe in the power of diversity and strive each day to create a workplace where each individual is valued and respected for their contributions. We also believe that our employees are the reason we are accomplishing great things and are committed to supporting them through our many different programs.

About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mining and Geology Systems, the Senior Technical Analyst, Mining and Geology Systems will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery and sustainment of a broad portfolio of custom and commercial software systems—such as Hexagon MinePlan3D, acQuire, and Deswik—that enable mining and geology workflows across EVR operations. This includes providing advanced technical support, implementing solutions, and ensuring their long-term sustainment through close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with a passion for learning new technologies, strong attention to detail, and creativity in solving problems. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and support informed decision-making. Most importantly, you thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy tackling complex challenges, and can effectively balance demands across multiple internal and external stakeholders. This Calgary-based role requires occasional travel to operational sites in British Columbia.

Calgary is known for its stunning Rocky Mountain backdrop, vibrant culture, and welcoming community spirit. Our corporate office is located downtown. Calgary stands as an exceptional destination where living and working seamlessly intertwine. Working a compressed work week with alternating Fridays off, come experience what work life balance is all about!

Responsibilities
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Provide advanced technical support for business-critical tools, applications, and expert systems; leverage vendor support to identify and resolve high-priority issues, including change management, release management, and knowledge management
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy lightweight software tools and scripts for automation and data analysis, while maintaining source control
  • Manage configuration changes and custom scripts through effective version control practices to ensure consistency, traceability, and collaborative development
  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of a diverse range of systems—from ideation and discovery through planning, implementation, sustainment, and vendor coordination for customizations
  • Contribute to and coordinate multiple initiatives, with responsibility for project planning, business requirements gathering, data analysis, and supporting execution and change management for cross-functional projects
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across all organizational levels
  • Lead vendor engagement to advocate for EVR\'s priorities, focusing on release planning and selection, and influencing product development direction for specialized systems
  • Facilitate alignment between business stakeholders and technical teams by translating complex requirements into concise, prioritized user stories, while maintaining a structured and transparent backlog to support effective delivery
  • Facilitate System Roadmap development and planning with business stakeholders and vendors
  • Ensure systems remain compliant with security and governance standards throughout their lifecycle, actively supporting the digital solution review process and contributing to related oversight activities
  • Conduct business analysis and leverage data to inform decision-making and lead business case development for strategic initiatives
  • Contribute to budgeting, cost management, and performance reporting
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain deployment, sustainment, and support documentation—including release management, system configuration, and knowledge bases
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Applied Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience in the sustainment, delivery, and management of enterprise-grade digital systems in industrial environments—preferably within the mining sector
  • Skilled in coordinating with vendors and advocating for stakeholder needs to align external solutions with business priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver medium to large-scale projects using established delivery frameworks, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
  • Agile product ownership experience across both COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) and custom solutions, with a strong understanding of Agile practices and proficiency in managing backlogs using Azure DevOps
  • Experienced in full system lifecycle management, including ideation, implementation, sustainment, and compliance
  • Skilled in leading and contributing to small to medium-sized software projects, with hands-on experience in development, testing, and delivery using source management tools
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and database design, with experience in data modeling, analytics, Power BI, and dashboard/report development
  • Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or JavaScript, along with exposure to object-oriented programming languages
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and practical experience with Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS offerings
  • This role includes travel to EVR\'s operations and offices
  • Valid Class 5 Driver\'s License or equivalent

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

To all applicants, your interest and effort are sincerely appreciated. While we thank everyone for their application, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
