THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Technical Analyst, Investments with proven experience to help us build and support our expanding Investment technology portfolio. The ideal candidate will deliver scalable solutions supporting UPP’s investment operations and long-term goals.

Reporting to the Director, Technology Enablement, you will collaborate with key technology partners to model, drive, and operationalize solutions. You should be motivated, hands-on, committed to continuous learning, and skilled in cloud engineering, automation, system configuration, and cybersecurity. Experience in medium-to-large enterprise environments is essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Analyst to join a high-performing team and make a significant impact.

This role is based in downtown Toronto with a hybrid work policy—remote work with approximately two days in-office per week.

Key Accountabilities

The Senior Technical Analyst, Investments will be responsible for:

  • Creating solutions from functional requirements
  • Working with third-party development teams and stakeholders on programming and software changes
  • Integrating products via APIs
  • Designing and executing automated regression tests during QA and UAT
  • Performing bug and performance testing throughout the software lifecycle
  • Reviewing technical designs and code feedback
  • Creating documentation for reference and reporting
  • Providing on-call or after-hours support for critical issues

Skills & Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business/Commerce, or relevant experience
  • Minimum 3 years developing software with Python, C#, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, or similar technologies
  • Flexibility and adaptability to client needs and technology
  • Understanding of agile methodology and DevOps (CI/CD)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Experience with data models, database design, ETL, and data mining
  • Familiarity with SaaS platforms like Dynamo, ServiceNow, Salesforce
  • Experience with low-code platforms like OutSystems
  • Knowledge of Integration Platforms like Informatica
  • Certifications in Microsoft Azure or GCP are a plus
  • Knowledge of OMS, EMS, or Capital Markets Investment processes is an asset
