Position overview

We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Senior Technical Analyst - Advanced Analytics (Data Engineer) in the Innovation and Technology Group. Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Advanced Analytics, the Senior Technical Analyst - Advanced Analytics (Data Engineer) is responsible for defining strategy and technical architecture, leading technical decisions and projects, managing daily operations, guiding internal and external resources, managing vendors, identifying improvement opportunities, and presenting to senior management. The candidate should possess broad and deep technical and analytical skills and strong communication abilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Building pipelines and processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources using SQL and Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage). Developing data products with analytics tools to utilize enterprise datasets for actionable insights to improve passenger experience and operational efficiency.
  2. Creating processes and documentation for data collection, integration, and consumption, and contributing to the design and development of RESTful APIs to enhance operational applications with additional data sources and insights.
  3. Collaborating with the data science team to deliver data products that support the development of digital products and machine learning models.
  4. Providing technical support and expertise to technical and non-technical teams, working with stakeholders to resolve operational data issues, and supporting data infrastructure operations.
  5. Designing and implementing internal process improvements through automation, optimizing data delivery, and ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance of data pipelines and processes.
  6. Working with the Information Security team to implement best practices for data security.

Key qualifications include:

  1. 10+ years of experience in designing and supporting enterprise data architectures, with at least 5 years in advanced analytics and project management, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience with virtual server platforms, storage, networking, cloud computing, project and vendor management, and mentoring. Familiarity with Azure Functions, Infrastructure as Code, and SQL Server Data Tools is advantageous.
  3. Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
  4. Background in data engineering, data warehousing, or software development, aiming to transition into big data environments.
  5. Programming skills in Python, Java, JSON, HTML, SQL, with experience in API data integration, and familiarity with Azure, Databricks, Denodo, Snowflake, and Qlik is preferred.
  6. Excellent communication, project management (waterfall and agile), and documentation skills.

Salary Range: $99,945 to $130,621 per year, based on a 37.5-hour work week, tailored to experience and qualifications.
