Senior Tech PM/Scrum Master (Agile Delivery Manager)

Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm and our Staffing practice is looking for a Hybrid PM/Scrum Master with experience working within a Financial Institution, to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. You will be joining a highly collaborative, fast-paced and high-performing team.

Line of Business: Retail Banking

Estimated Start Date: Mid to End of Feb 2025

Length of Contract: 6 months rolling

Possibility of Extension: Yes

Working Location: Hybrid, 2 days a week, Downtown Toronto (Mon/Wed)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Description:

Responsible for establishing and directing IT projects which have been initiated by the Accountable Executive. These include (but are not limited to) launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, business acquisition and integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployment. Such strategic projects are often highly complex and large-scale in nature, spanning multiple functions and/or business groups.

The Agile Delivery Manager ensures that a successful business outcome is the prime measure of success, mitigating risks and managing costs and stakeholders throughout.

Responsibilities:

  1. Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group.
  2. Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  3. Assists in the development of strategic plans.
  4. Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  5. Leads the execution of Agile practice management programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
  6. Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
  7. Designs and/or leads initiatives to improve processes, analysis, and reporting.
  8. Challenges the status quo on how and what we do at the bank; influences behaviour independent of organizational hierarchy.
  9. Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions; holds team members and stakeholders accountable to follow the values and behaviours implied by the accelerated delivery model.

Must Have Requirements:

  • 10+ Years Experience
  • Banking
  • Experience working with Agile Scrum Teams as Scrum Master
  • Financials, Forecasting, Budgets, Scope
  • Ability to manage complex environments
  • Liaison between technical and business teams

Nice to Have Requirements:

  • End to End experience in lending (Credit Cards, Mortgages, Line of Credit) is a strong nice to have
  • AWS

Interview Process:

2 rounds of interviews with the client.
