Our mid-size CA firm client is excited to grow their team and is currently searching for a Senior Tax Specialist Accountant opportunity in Kelowna. Their firm is redefining what it means to work in the accounting industry. The successful candidate will be a designated accountant or working towards their CPA designation, public practice career-focused individual who is excited to join a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial firm wanting to develop their skills in income taxation. What you will be doing:

  1. Preparation of tax files.
  2. Preparation and review of personal, corporate and trust income tax returns.
  3. Undertaking tax research with guidance from senior specialists.
  4. Undertaking tax projects under supervision of senior specialists.
  5. Liaise with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals.
  6. Develop strategies for clients to capitalize on business opportunities.
  7. Identify and document tax filing positions, including risk analysis.
  8. Research and analysis of a variety of tax issues.
  9. Prepare internal and external client correspondence.

What you must have:

  1. CPA designation, or working towards your designation
  2. 2-4 years' experience in public accounting; Tax experience is an asset.
  3. Enrolled, or willing to enroll, in the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course.
  4. Familiarity with CaseWare, Microsoft Office and Tax Prep.
  5. Ability to interact with clients, co-workers, Managers and Partners.
  6. Able to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Values teamwork, client/customer service, professionalism, quality in detailed work, community involvement, personal and professional growth.

Salary/Rate Range: $60,000 - $73,000
