Overview

Senior Tax Manager, US role at Colliers. This is a hybrid role based out of Vancouver, BC, with responsibilities focused on U.S. tax compliance, tax provision support, and strategic tax initiatives for Colliers’ U.S. operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead tax compliance processes: Oversee the preparation and review of U.S. corporate and partnership tax returns, including forms 1120, 1065, 5471, 5472, and other informational filings.
  • Drive tax provision and audit readiness: Support quarterly and annual tax provisions and manage federal and state audits, ensuring accurate surplus and E&P calculations.
  • Assist with indirect and state-level tax filings: Review and support business & occupancy tax returns, gross receipts taxes, and other state-level filings.
  • Collaborate closely with accounting and finance: Act as a key tax resource, providing excellent internal service and clear guidance on U.S. income and commodity tax matters.
  • Coordinate with external advisors: Manage and review outsourced U.S. tax filings to ensure completeness and compliance with current tax regulations.
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree and/or designation in Accounting; CPA designation required.
  • 8–10 years of experience, preferably in U.S. tax compliance within professional services or corporate settings.
  • Proven experience in U.S. corporate and partnership tax returns, including surplus and E&P calculations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and U.S. tax preparation software (Go Systems or Onesource).
  • Exceptional communication skills; ability to translate complex tax matters clearly and build strong partnerships across departments.

Approximate Salary Range for this Role: $135,000 - $145,000
