Qualifications

  • CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program completed.
  • 7+ years of public accounting or tax consulting experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian corporate, personal, and trust taxation.
  • Experience supporting private enterprise and owner-managed business clients.
  • Proven experience in tax planning, tax compliance, and corporate reorganizations.
  • Strong leadership, client relationship management, and practice development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple client-facing tax engagement teams and oversee engagement delivery.
  • Review and oversee corporate (T2), personal (T1), and trust (T3) tax compliance engagements.
  • Develop and implement advanced tax planning strategies for private enterprise clients.
  • Advise clients on corporate reorganizations, succession planning, and business structuring.
  • Manage a portfolio of private enterprise clients and oversee budgets and profitability.
  • Drive business development through networking and proposal development.
  • Mentor and develop managers, senior accountants, and junior staff.

Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Manager, Tax Services to join a leading public accounting firm's Private Enterprise Tax practice. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals, providing strategic tax planning, compliance oversight, and business advisory services.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive Canadian tax experience, strong technical expertise across corporate, personal, and trust taxation, and a proven ability to develop client relationships, lead engagement teams, and contribute to practice growth. This role offers the opportunity to partner with business owners on complex tax matters, corporate reorganizations, succession planning, and long-term tax strategies.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple client-facing tax engagement teams and oversee engagement delivery
  • Review and oversee corporate (T2), personal (T1), and trust (T3) tax compliance engagements
  • Develop and implement advanced tax planning strategies for private enterprise clients and shareholders
  • Advise clients on corporate reorganizations, succession planning, and business structuring initiatives
  • Analyze financial statements and identify tax risks, opportunities, and planning considerations
  • Liaise with the CRA and provincial tax authorities regarding client matters
  • Review tax elections and documentation related to complex tax transactions and reorganizations
  • Manage a portfolio of private enterprise clients and act as a trusted business advisor
  • Oversee engagement budgets, project financials, billing, WIP management, and profitability
  • Drive business development initiatives through networking, relationship building, and proposal development
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements within the Tax practice
  • Mentor, coach, and develop managers, senior accountants, and junior staff members
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program
  • 7+ years of public accounting or tax consulting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian corporate, personal, and trust taxation
  • Experience supporting private enterprise and owner-managed business clients
  • Proven experience in tax planning, tax compliance, and corporate reorganizations
  • Strong leadership, client relationship management, and practice development experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis
