Position Details

Hybrid role - 3 days in office, with options across Canada.

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Director, the Senior Taxation Manager will lead tax compliance for Norton Rose Fulbright Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage retail tax filings across all provinces and legal entities.
  2. Implement and enforce tax policies and procedures.
  3. Review complex tax forms for accuracy and compliance.
  4. Serve as a tax subject matter expert and provide client service.
  5. Advise management on tax implications and conduct research.
  6. Support the Partnership Office on tax matters.
  7. Manage external tax audits.
  8. Participate in sales tax accounting projects.
  9. Communicate with tax authorities and external experts.
  10. Train staff on retail sales tax matters.
  11. Prepare annual tax returns and related forms.
  12. Review partnership income statements annually.
  13. Assist with T-3 and T-5 processes and controls.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA designation required.
  • Tax training (GST/HST) and certification preferred.
  • 8-12 years of tax experience, preferably in professional or legal services.
  • Experience with retail sales tax filings across Canada.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP knowledge is an asset.
