DHR Global is partnering with a well-established and respected public accounting firm in Cambridge, Ontario, to identify their next Senior Tax Manager. With over 50 years of service to individuals, privately-owned businesses, not-for-profits, and farm mutual insurance companies across Southern Ontario, this firm is known for its client-first approach, community involvement, and award-winning service. They are currently looking to grow their team with a strategic tax leader who thrives in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Scope and Responsibilities

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will:

  • Design and implement tax-efficient strategies for incorporations, reorganizations, estate planning, purchase/sale transactions, and shareholder remuneration.
  • Lead complex tax engagements across diverse sectors, providing strategic tax guidance to high-net-worth individuals and privately-held companies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, while developing a robust book of business.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff, contributing to a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous growth.
  • Coordinate and review a wide range of tax filings and planning documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external advisors to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, billing proposals, and overall engagement planning.
Qualifications
  • CPA, CA designation with experience in tax within a public accounting firm.
  • Completion (or near-completion) of CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program or a Master of Taxation degree (strongly desired).
  • Strong technical expertise in tax planning and compliance, with a focus on private clients and owner-managed businesses.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for clients.
  • Proficiency in Taxprep / Profile and experience with tax research platforms such as TaxnetPro, CCH, Knotia, or Blue J Tax.
  • Working knowledge of GST/HST.
