We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Tax Analyst to join our Finance team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, you will be responsible for preparing the annual income tax provisional working papers, researching Canadian corporate tax compliance matters, and assisting with indirect tax matters, such as GST and PST. Working closely with the business, you will also develop tax management tools, collaborating on tax matters, and addressing multi-provincial tax compliance issues.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing tax working papers, tax analyses and gathering information for the corporate income tax provision, facilitating the process with external advisors and corporate office.
- Preparing corporate and indirect tax comprehensive memos, detailing tax findings, implications and recommendations.
- Supporting with tax authority audits.
- Monitoring applicable tax legislation to proactively assess and determine the impact of proposals to the business.
- Researching day-to-day income and indirect tax compliance issues in federal or multi-provincial jurisdictions.
- Providing support with tax risk management projects and initiatives, including the review and implementation of changes to the business systems, processes, and significant transactions to improve tax compliance and minimize risk.
- Supporting the business with income and indirect sales tax matters.
- Responding to ad-hoc tax-related inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Working with the business to develop and maintain an efficient and effective system of tax management tools and processes.
You have:
- 3+ years of experience in an analyst role with corporate income tax experience.
- A professional accounting designation or equivalent industry experience.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft desktop applications, including advanced Excel skills and ability to navigate general ledger systems.
- An interest in learning indirect taxation.
- Completed the CPA In-Depth Tax and/or GST/HST In-Depth Program is an asset.
