Description

Spirent is looking for a motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to support our customers across the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, with a focus on the Seattle and Vancouver areas—hubs of cloud, networking, and cybersecurity innovation.

In this role, you’ll be a critical part of Spirent’s regional sales team, collaborating with strategic customers and internal stakeholders to position and support our testing solutions. From L2/L3 networking to L4-L7 application performance and advanced security validation, you’ll work hands-on with leading-edge technologies that help our customers build and deploy their products and services with confidence.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a technical related field from an accredited university required or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of industry experience in a technical role.
  • Strong proficiency in networking, network security, telecommunications, and applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (IPv4/IPv6), including RIP, BGP, OSPF, and ISIS.
  • Hands-on experience with IP and Ethernet technologies (Data Center Ethernet, 400G/100G/40G/10G Ethernet, L4-L7 technologies, Cloud Services, and Virtualization).
  • Experience with AI networking, including RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCEv2) and Collective Communications Library (CCL).
  • Familiarity with application security protocols such as HTTP(s)/2, TLS 1.2/1.3, SSL, SSH, TCP/IP, and Streaming Media.
  • Experience with security devices, including Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), load balancers, IDS, and IPS.
  • Experience with telecom/networking testing using commercial test platforms like Spirent TestCenter, Avalanche, CyberFlood, Ixia, and BreakingPoint Systems is a plus.
  • Programming and scripting experience in Python, TCL/TK, C/C++, Java, or Perl is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API programming is a plus.
  • Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNA, CCIE, JNCIA, or CISSP are a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and resolve technical challenges.
  • Excellent listening, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region as required.

Annualized Salary Wage Range:CAN$102,500 - CAD$253,000

Spirent applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience at or in line with the minimum requirements.
