New Value Solutions is searching for a Senior Systems Administrator. Initially, this is a temporary position with a duration of 6 to 12 months; however, this is anticipated to be an excellent opportunity for transition to a permanent role based on performance. We are only interested in applicants that are willing to work as a full time, permanent employee after 6 or 12 months. The successful candidate must be willing to work onsite and and must successfully clear the appropriate security clearance required for this role.
Overview
The role is primarily responsible for the operation, support, and maintenance of the corporate information technology infrastructure. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, documenting and optimizing all network / telephony / server / storage / cloud device hardware and software across all connected sites. Another key responsibility includes managing and performing system administration tasks and to ensure system integrity and carrying out proactive performance tuning, security measures, capacity monitoring, and troubleshooting. Plan and perform installation of patches and upgrades as well as development of preventative maintenance plans.
Key Accountabilities for Excellence
- Managing physical servers, virtual machines (local / cloud), storage systems, and network devices, keeping in scope systems secured, up to date, and protected from data loss.
- Managing and maintaining critical storage systems, provisioning and controlling storage allocated to systems and users.
- Maintaining backup systems and disaster recovery processes, regularly testing and validating data and processes.
- Maintaining Azure cloud services and systems including Microsoft Office 365 services.
- Developing and validating security posture for NIST and generally accepted network standards to provide rigorous security and compliance.
- Creating and continuously maintaining documentation for systems and processes.
- Continually staying current on new technology trends and products, providing guidance to team members and direction on project options.
- Coordinating and performing after-hours maintenance as required.
- Available for after-hours support.
- Write instructional and technical support documents for systems administrators / support staff as well as end-users / customers. Document and educate co-workers on all implemented solutions as well as improvements in system security practices and implementations.
- Evaluate potential technologies and provide recommendations on system hardware and security improvements and implementations
- Work closely with the IT management team, support and customer care teams and other internal partners to satisfy all customer requirements.
- Participate in IT Infrastructure related projects and initiatives.
- Participate in the growth of Information Technology and the development of IT standards and methodologies.
Experience
- 6-8 years of work experience as a Systems Administrator / Engineer.

- Active Directory / Powershell
- NetApp SAN and NAS (7 mode and CDOT) experience a plus
- Fileshare, webDAV, DFS NFS, and CIFS storage protocols
- Knowledge of networking technologies (Switching, Routing, VLAN, Firewall, DNS, DHCP, IP)
- Microsoft Exchange / Office365
- Microsoft SharePoint administration
- Citrix XenApp and VDI
- NIST, IDS, and IPS knowledge
Education :
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field and at least 5 years relevant work experience.
- Cisco, NetApp, Citrix and VMware certifications a plus.
