Job description

As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for Windows Server installation and maintenance, Active Directory authentication and adjacent Microsoft services such as Domain Name Resolution (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Certificate Services (CA). You will be translating the organization's business strategies into technology plans to propose, develop, design and lead the implementation of innovative and complex IT architecture solutions to support core organizational functions and assure their security and high availability.

Your Responsibilities

  • Active Directory and Entra ID Design and Implementation: Design, deploy, and maintain structures that align with organizational requirements and best practices
  • User and Group Management: Create, modify, and manage user and service accounts, groups, and permissions to ensure secure and efficient access to network resources
  • Group Policy Management: Develop and enforce Group Policies to standardize and secure desktop and server configurations, application settings, and security settings across the network
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve issues related to Active Directory and Entra ID, authentication, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and access control in a timely and efficient manner
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to protect against unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies
  • Backup and Recovery: Establish and maintain reliable backup and recovery processes for Active Directory, ensuring minimal downtime in the event of data loss or system failure
  • Collaboration with IT Teams: Work closely with other IT teams to integrate Active Directory and Entra ID services with other systems, applications, and infrastructure components
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, policies, and procedures
  • Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and updates to ensure the security and performance of the Active Directory environment
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address issues and generate regular reports on system performance and security

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or professional diploma with significant professional experience
  • 7 years of experience in system architecture, design, development, and deployment
  • Proven experience as an Active Directory Administrator and Entra ID in a large enterprise environment
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems and associated technologies
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for task automation and management
  • Experience with Group Policy management and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of security best practices and the ability to implement security measures within Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions for Active Directory
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate are a plus
  • Experience following Security best practices and principles
  • Experience in architecting/designing within Microsoft Infrastructure and Applications (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, System Center/Intune, SCCM, Windows Server etc.), Microsoft M365 Platform technologies, and Experience in architecting/designing within cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
  • Knowledge of Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu) would be considered an asset
