About The Role:
We are seeking a Senior System Engineer with strong understanding and experience in 5G networks, including RAN, core, and mobile configurations. The ideal candidate will support customers with solution integration and troubleshooting, bringing hands-on experience across the full 5G network. Practical experience with supporting 5G, 4G, and Wi-Fi deployments in real-world environments is highly valued, especially in end-to-end connectivity. This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong sense of ownership in both independent and team-based settings within a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Technical customer engagement for 5GNR, LTE, and Wi-Fi network deployments, resolving complex issues related to RAN, core network, and end-to-end connectivity.
- Perform in-depth network performance analysis, diagnose connectivity bottlenecks, and conduct packet-level troubleshooting using tools like Wireshark.
- Configure and optimize network switching infrastructure, including VLANs, static routes, and QoS policies, to ensure seamless solution integration within telecom environments.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and optimize wireless network architectures for 5GNR+Wi-Fi and LTE use cases.
- Leverage monitoring and analytics platforms (e.g., Grafana) to proactively identify, analyze, and resolve system performance issues.
- Articulate technical solutions and root-cause analyses clearly to technical stakeholders, customers, and executives.
- Document technical issues, configurations, and resolutions in detailed reports to support knowledge sharing and workflows.
- Provide hands-on support during customer lab and field trials, including system integration, testing, and performance validation.
- Lead planning and execution of customer trials, ensuring thorough preparation, successful deployment, and comprehensive documentation of outcomes.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in wireless networks, cloud technologies, and virtualization to drive continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in RAN and core integration, network validation, and wireless support.
- Hands-on telecom experience with deploying and supporting 5G and LTE networks across RAN, core, and mobile configurations.
- Deep expertise in 5GNR technologies including gNodeB, 5GC, and end-to-end 5G network architecture, with strong foundational knowledge of LTE systems such as eNodeB and EPC.
- Experience configuring and testing 5G UEs (smartphones and CPEs) in customer deployments.
- Advanced understanding of wireless network protocols (e.g., S1AP, NGAP, RRC, NAS) and their integration with cloud and edge solutions.
- Proficiency in virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, KVM) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for network function virtualization (NFV).
- Knowledge of cloud communication protocols (e.g., HTTP/HTTPS, MQTT, WebSocket) and their application in device-to-cloud interactions.
- Strong expertise in networking fundamentals, including firewall policies, NAT, port mapping, VLAN segmentation, and routing.
- Proven experience in network troubleshooting, packet sniffing, and analysis using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, and iperf.
- Hands-on proficiency in configuring managed switches for VLANs, QoS, and basic routing (without BGP or OSPF).
- Familiarity with observability and analytics tools (e.g., Grafana, Elastic, Spark) for radio network performance monitoring is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for live customer technical engagements.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
