Job Responsibilities
- Define Concept of Operations for the project, including operational scenarios and use cases.
- Define System Architecture (logical, functional, physical).
- Lead scope and requirement discussions with technical teams and customers.
- Manage System Requirements and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
- Understand subsystems from external suppliers and ensure system-level compatibility.
- Identify, define, and manage system interfaces.
- Decompose System Requirements and collaborate with engineering teams for proper allocation.
- Serve as the technical interface across product development, engineering, manufacturing, verification & validation, commissioning, and RAMS teams.
- Support technical decisions and participate in system integration testing.
- Define impact analysis for system changes and support configuration management throughout the lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with company processes and standards like CMMI, CENELEC, IEEE, etc.
- Support stakeholders and participate in budget estimation.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- 5-10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years as a lead systems or design engineer.
- P.Eng (PEO) certification for Ontario, CA.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with engineering lifecycles, HW/SW integration, and delivering solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, requirements management systems (e.g., Doors), PLM systems, defect tracking, and configuration tools.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and understand new technologies quickly.
- Excellent communication skills to simplify complex ideas.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts: V-lifecycle, System Architecture, Requirements, Configuration, and Interface Management.
