The Royal College partners and collaborates to lead the evolution of specialty medical education and standards; support specialist physicians, learners and teams to continuously improve; and advocate for excellence in specialty medicine by supporting innovation, well-being, equity and person-centered care. We are a national, nonprofit organization established in 1929 by a special Act of Parliament to oversee the medical education of specialists in Canada.

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Operations, the Senior Systems and Network Administrator (SSNA) is responsible for architecting, designing, managing and maintaining the virtual and physical technology infrastructure and networks of the Royal College. In this role you will ensure alignment with enterprise standards and meet operational and security requirements as well as business needs. As SSNA you will be responsible for such tasks as system configuration, network management, security solutions operations, performance monitoring, data backup, and recovery planning. The SSNA plays a critical role in enabling interconnected services within local, virtual and cloud infrastructure.

Here’s an insight into your typical day-to-day:

  1. Designs, architects, implements, and manages complex network solutions
  2. Monitors and manages performance of systems and networks
  3. Support and maintain Server applications
  4. Manage and maintain Microsoft Identify Services for authentication and authorization
  5. Manage and secure network firewalls and maintain compliance with industry standards
  6. Manages and executes data backups and recovery processes
  7. Recommend adequate data storage solutions to enable the organization's growth
  8. Maintain detailed network documentation and processes

Does this sound like you?

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or cyber security
  2. 7 years of experience in IT Infrastructure administration
    1. Physical and Wireless network operations
    2. Microsoft 365 Services
    3. Microsoft Azure Services
    4. Virtualized Platforms (VMWare, AWS)
    5. Experience in PowerShell and Task Automation services
    6. Network+, Security+, MCP, MCSA certifications, Microsoft Azure Cloud Certifications

• Requirements:

  1. Ability to work outside business hours
  2. Valid driver’s license
  3. Lifting heavy objects

• Asset: Fall Protection certification

Band 8 - Salary ranges from $89,486.00 to $111,807.00
