Job description

Marcomm Integrated Business Solutions, part of the Telecon Group of Companies, is currently looking for motivated and skilled individuals to take on the position of Senior Structured Cabling Technician.

Candidates must have access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement) and be able to travel across the GTA for projects including areas such as Hamilton, Barrie, Oshawa, and Milton.

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

• Installation of structured cabling (CAT 6, CAT 6A, and others) and optical fiber according to the requirements (diagrams)
• Label cables according to defined standards
• Lead a team to meet deadlines and objectives
• Perform the necessary tests after installation and make the necessary corrections
• Maintain strong customer relations through daily contact with customers
• Install new services, extra outlets, and equipment in domestic dwellings, apartments, and commercial buildings
• Navigate with expertise on daily service calls
• Learn and adhere to all applicable Health & Safety regulations, both legislatively mandated and as outlined in company policy

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

• A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement available)
• Structured Cabling and/or Installation experience required
• Completion of post-secondary education
• Knowledge of Belden, Panduit, and Corning design products an asset
• Professional, trustworthy, and reliable with a strong attention to detail
• Computer skills and proficiency in a Windows environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency
• Ability to organize work and consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Working at Heights and Fall Arrest Certification is an asset
• Must be willing to complete a pre-employment criminal background check
