Job summary

PRI Engineering is seeking a Practice Lead for Structural Engineering to guide technical excellence across BC, Alberta, and Ontario. This senior leadership role focuses on quality, life-safety, mentoring engineers, and building a high-performing multi-office practice that delivers from steel and concrete to wood and masonry.

Based in Surrey or other PRI offices (Vancouver, Calgary, Peterborough, Mississauga) with travel, you will own the technical authority, drive standards and sign-off, and

Qualifications

• P.Eng in good standing with EGBC or eligible for registration
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; graduate degree an asset
• Minimum 12 years of structural engineering experience with increasing responsibility
• Minimum 5 years of technical or team leadership and mentoring
• Deep knowledge of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry, and Canadian codes

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical authority for the practice across multiple offices
• Own rigorous technical review and professional sign-off on calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Develop and continuously improve the practice's technical standards and quality management systems
• Manage utilization, labour forecasts, and workload planning across offices
• Mentor engineers, EITs, technologists, and drafters toward P.Eng. registration
• Lead recruitment and succession planning for key technical roles
• Provide technical strategy and credibility on major pursuits with clients
• Champion BIM coordination and AI-enabled approaches while safeguarding engineering judgment
