Zusammenfassung

Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior/Lead Structural Engineer for its Power team in Mississauga, Ontario. This role leads groups of engineers and professionals on large and small projects, coordinating with project managers and clients, and ensuring design quality and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in structural engineering, is licensed in Canada, and proficient with CAD and analysis software.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years experience in structural engineering, specifically in structural steel and foundation design for high voltage substations, transmission lines, industrial, power generation, industrial buildings, and other utility projects.
• Must possess a Bachelors’ Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and be licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Canada.
• Experience with transmission station structures and overhead transmission lines with operating voltages not less than 115 kV
• Previous experience in the design of heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), preferably in the power industry, and Consulting Engineering experience is desirable
• Must have strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MS Office, MathCAD, STAAD, SFrame, RISA, LPILE, PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole & Tower, SAGSEC, CAISSON) and related software.
• Experience in business development and civil design would be an asset.
• Strong leadership, communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multidiscipline design team.

Aufgaben

• Supervising groups of professionals and non‑professionals or small groups of specialized engineers in the Power sector to execute projects
• Liaise with discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors, and clients to facilitate design and provide clarifications during construction
• Maintaining project timelines and tracking tasks and design documents
• Preparing and verifying design drawings and calculations
• Preparing and verifying procurement activities and deliverables
• Preparing purchase requisitions and reviewing supplier bids and technical submissions
• Performing inspections for procurement of material
• Monitoring project schedule and budgets and reporting status regularly
