Job summary

IFAB Engineering Partners Ltd. is seeking a Structural Engineer at an Intermediate to Senior level in Canada.

Work is performed with designers, engineers and project managers to design optimized industrial and commercial facilities, with a focus on food and beverage sector experience as an asset. The role involves field investigations, modeling and analysis, building permit work, and potential project management responsibilities, in a hybrid office environment with some travel across Canada

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a certified Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).
• Demonstrated understanding of the Ontario Building Code and the National Building Code.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong technical, organizational, and coordination skills demonstrated through projects.
• Ability and interest to work as part of a team; desire to develop skills and career.
• MS Office Suite experience; food and beverage industry experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a fully licensed structural engineer with authority to seal drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, technical specialists, and project managers to design facilities.
• Develop innovative and value-oriented solutions from project requirements.
• Participate in design team collaboration to achieve optimal design.
• Conduct field investigations, computer modeling, and structural analysis on structures.
• Provide structural design and engineering for building permits, tendering, and construction.
• Support project with guidance on good building practices and site conditions.
• Act as a project manager when appropriate.
• Review shop drawings and perform site observations for conformance.
• Work under the structural engineering manager to develop skills and ensure design quality.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
