Job summary

Barr Ltd. is seeking a senior structural engineer for a hybrid role based in Calgary or Saskatoon. You will provide structural engineering expertise for dam, hydropower, and flood-control structures within multidisciplinary project teams.

The role requires a P.Eng, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to travel to the U.S. You will work in an office setting with fieldwork up to 20%, and may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering with a structural emphasis, including design experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering for dams, hydropower, and flood control projects.
• P.Eng certification with ability to obtain PE within one year.

Responsibilities

• Perform dam safety reviews, audits, and inspections; provide structural analysis and design for hydraulic structures.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing projects; track milestones and report to managers and clients.
• Develop and maintain client relationships with dam, hydropower, and flood control clients; conduct site inspections.
