Job Description

WSP is currently seeking a dynamic and innovative Structural Engineer to join our Structural Engineering Group, located at our Vancouver office. Reporting to a Team Lead, Structural Engineering, this position will be responsible for working with a multi-disciplinary team to take innovative design solutions from proposal stage through to constructed projects for clients in a wide variety of sectors. This role will primarily focus on construction support for the structural discipline on multi-disciplinary projects. It will include a client-facing component, requiring strong communication and coordination skills, as well as experience in site-based roles.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead medium projects or play key roles in large project delivery
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads on large projects during construction, managing RFIs, budgets, resources, and client relationships
  • Perform engineering calculations and assessments for various structural materials under supervision
  • Manage project coordination with clients, architects, and other disciplines
  • Ensure high standards in project deliverables and quality control
  • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical reports
  • Conduct field reviews, inspections, and assessments
  • Mentor junior staff and support talent development
  • Advance computational design and structural modeling techniques
  • Participate in business development and strategic project acquisition activities
  • Coordinate with other WSP offices across Canada
  • Travel within Canada for project sites and assessments as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with EGBC
  • 8-12 years of experience in Structural Engineering
  • Strong site-based construction support and field review experience
  • Proficiency in software such as Etabs, SAP2000, RAM, and/or Robot; familiarity with Dynamo, Grasshopper is a plus
  • Experience with diverse project types including institutional, healthcare, transportation, industrial, or commercial/residential
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • Strong organizational and technical writing skills
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset
Compensation

Expected salary range: $105,800 to $145,400. Compensation is based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
