Sedgman Canada Ltd in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead and provide technical support on structural projects in the mining sector, including design, investigation, budgeting and scheduling.

You will mentor a junior team, interface with other disciplines, and ensure compliance with codes. A Bachelor’s in Structural Engineering, P.Eng with EGBC eligibility, and 15+ years of experience (5+ in lead role) are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
• P.Eng registration with EGBC or eligibility to obtain.
• 15+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 in project lead or senior role.
• Strong understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures.
• Experience in design, consultancy, and operational environments, preferably in mining.
• Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead project development of structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Lead concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs.
• Perform detailed concrete and steel design, producing models and documentation.
• Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Sedgman Canada Ltd is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, B.C. The role involves leading and providing technical support on structural engineering projects, including conducting structural design, investigation, managing project budgets and schedules, and preparing technical reports. The successful candidate will mentor and coach a young and enthusiastic team.

Sedgman is a consulting engineering company in the mining space with rapid expansion across North America.

Responsibilities

• Lead project development of structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes and industry standards.
• Lead concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs.
• Perform detailed concrete and steel design, producing models and documentation in line with QA compliance.
• Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process and Mechanical.
• Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Salary Range

$160K - $180K. Salary will consider education, experience, relevant skills, geographic location, and market conditions at the time of hire.
