Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer in the Civil Engineering Sector in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This opportunity is at a boutique firm that is an industry leader in the risk management of critical civil engineering assets. As a senior Structural Engineer, you will report directly to the President and lead a team of Junior Engineers in civil and structural engineering, with a focus on bridges and marine structures. Our client works with federal, provincial, and municipal governments, offering the chance to engage in interesting government projects.

How you will make an impact :

1. Provide leadership and supervision to junior engineers
2. Serve as an expert in Structural design, analysis, and modeling
3. Review designs and drawings, bringing your experience and expertise
4. Carry out specifications and quantity estimations
5. Manage projects thoroughly from start to finish
6. Lead structural inspections and assessments
7. Conduct fieldwork and visit project sites as needed
8. Prepare, review, and sign off reports

Successful candidates will have :

1. Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience as a Professional Engineer in Canada
2. PEng designation in any Canadian province with eligibility for registration in Nova Scotia
3. Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering from a recognized institution
4. High proficiency in structural analysis and modeling
5. Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
6. Extensive knowledge of Canadian design codes and standards
7. Familiarity with engineering software programs
