Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Structural Department Manager for our Denver, CO office. The role focuses on building and mentoring a high-performing team to grow the Colorado transportation structural market, while leading staff on bridge and highway projects.

Ideal candidates will bring 15+ years of experience, a Colorado PE license, and strong leadership, communication, and client liaison skills to manage multi-office, multi-project work with strategic growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team focused on expanding the firm's Colorado transportation structural market.
• Lead, direct, and mentor transportation structural staff on projects, including development of design plans for a broad range of transportation structures.
• Assess staffing needs and recommend hiring actions to support department growth and project delivery.
• Partner with leadership to develop and implement strategic growth initiatives.
• Develop marketing strategies and support proposal writing for transportation structural opportunities.
• Participate in project scoping, fee estimating, proposal preparation, interviews, and negotiations.
• Provide regular department status, performance updates, and forecasts to the Group Manager.
• Coordinate project priorities and staff assignments to meet deadlines and client needs.
• Support goal setting and performance achievement for direct reports.
• Prepare and revise reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and designs.
• Perform QA/QC reviews for office projects.
• Follow company quality assurance and quality control standards.
• Review department projects to coordinate work procedures, sequencing, schedules, budgets, staffing, and progress billings.
• Oversee and manage department projects as needed.
• Meet with client management during projects to resolve issues and obtain final approvals.
