To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking a Senior Stress Engineer to join our teams located any one of our Canadian offices with preference for Calgary, AB, Moncton, NB, Kitchener, ON.

Join our vibrant and rapidly expanding team across Canada, where you'll tackle complex energy projects from initial concepts to detailed engineering. As a Senior Stress Engineer you'll be at the forefront, leading projects as a subject matter expert in Stress Engineering. In collaboration with other project stakeholders, you will work to ensure we meet or exceed our project goals. Your responsibilities will span performing stress analysis, writing technical reports and making recommendations, designing piping supports to dealing with the clients directly to problem-solve and engage, and more. We are open to someone seeking an Independent Contractor engagement!

What you can expect to do here:

  • You will perform stress analysis of piping & equipment systems.
  • You will generate comprehensive technical reports, offering insightful recommendations to enhance designs and address issues effectively.
  • You will demonstrate exceptional client engagement, effective problem-solving, clear communication, passion, and outstanding technical knowledge both within the team and on-site.
  • You will lead and guide both local and remote team members with their work.
  • You will design piping supports and support the development of specifications and standards.
  • You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and develop strong client and internal relationships.
  • You will apply industry guidelines, codes, and standards criteria to formulate design recommendations.
  • You will ensure engineering designs meet applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, CSA, etc.).
  • You will prepare and seal technical reports summarizing the results of the analyses.


What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of stress engineering experience in an EPC Environment.
  • Previous experience in leading teams and projects as a stress engineer.
  • Previous experience with Oil & Gas facilities, mining facilities and rotating equipment are an asset.
  • Familiarity with Ceasar II. Autopipe. FE Pipe and Nozzle Pro
  • Experience in multiple projects with tight deadlines..
