Overview

Senior Startup Solutions Architect, Startups Canada

Description

Do you like startups? Are you interested in cloud computing? This role may be of interest if you’re passionate about helping early stage companies build scalable, secure cloud architectures.

Startups are the large enterprises of the future. These young companies are founded by ambitious people who want to build something meaningful and challenge the status quo. They often operate with limited resources. This is where you come in.

The AWS Startup Solutions Architecture team works with early stage startup companies to help them deploy the best, most scalable, and most secure architectures while minimizing time and cost. We are looking for technical builders who enjoy working with startups to help them grow. In this role, you’ll work directly with customers to guide pragmatic technical decisions, build lasting relationships, and establish yourself as a trusted advisor. You’ll also keep your skills fresh, working with over 200 services across categories and advocating for products that meet startup needs. When not working 1 : 1 with customers, you’ll contribute to technical content and present at events.

Key job responsibilities
  • Engage directly with startup customers to provide technical advocacy as they build in the cloud, helping them minimize time and cost
  • Create plans with account teams to define how you will assist customers with their cloud needs
  • Share technical knowledge broadly by participating in startup-focused sessions with groups of customers
  • Collaborate with AWS teams (e.g., marketing, training) to create content for the startup community at scale (online videos and other digital content)
A day in the life

As a Startup Solutions Architect, you’ll work with co-founders and CTOs to architect scalable cloud solutions that accelerate growth. You’ll evaluate technical requirements across AI, containers, and serverless architectures, lead hands-on workshops, and design migration strategies with partners. You’ll collaborate with field engineers and product teams to address startup challenges such as scaling bottlenecks, cost optimization, and translating feedback into product improvements. Your guidance helps startups reduce time-to-market and build resilient architectures.

About The Team

Our Startups Solutions Architecture team in Canada partners with the country’s most innovative startups—from AI pioneers to fintech disruptors—helping them build and scale on AWS. We are hands-on builders who create proofs of concept, develop frameworks, and solve complex technical challenges alongside customers. You’ll collaborate with Account Managers, Partner teams, and AWS specialists while tackling GenAI implementations to security compliance. Our mission is to accelerate startup success through world-class technical guidance. Join a team that values innovation, continuous learning, and making a real impact on the next generation of game-changing companies.
