Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Senior Staff‑level engineer to architect, deploy, and troubleshoot a broad set of software solutions. You will influence requirements with business and product teams and drive integration with all key systems.

You’ll own tooling powering Equinix’s API ecosystem, including governance, SDK/IaC/documentation generation, and platform workflows across Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. Strong leadership and automation mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong coding skills in Go, Python or JavaScript.
• Senior Staff‑level experience building and operating production systems or internal developer platforms.
• Deep experience with API lifecycle management and governance (OpenAPI, OAuth2/OIDC, versioning, compatibility).
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Linux‑based CI/CD.
• Familiarity with gateways/edge technologies (Apigee, ALB, Ingress, Envoy) and identity/authorization patterns.
• Automation‑first mindset and comfort owning systems end‑to‑end while leading through influence.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Responsible for architecture, design, deployment, and troubleshooting of different software solutions. Interacts with the business and product teams to influence requirements. Responsible for integration with all business systems and applications. Works closely with the architecture and networking teams, to influence the design, validation, and deployments.

• Experience with SDK generation for multi‑language clients and compatibility testing

• Experience with developer and documentation platforms (e.g., Docusaurus, Backstage, Confluence), including plugins and build integrations

• Experience with MCP and safe agentic/AI workflows for developer tooling

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 131,000 - 181,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
