Senior Staff Accountant
Location: Hybrid - Oakville, Ontario
Job Type: Permanent/Full-time
Salary: $80,000-100,000 Annually CAD

The Senior Staff Accountant will join a vibrant public accounting practice in Oakville, with a focus on providing comprehensive client accounting services. The role requires applying accounting concepts creatively, preparing complex tax returns, and embracing technology to improve service delivery. This position is ideal for individuals with a minimum of 3 years' recent public practice experience who want to make a real impact in public accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply accounting principles to a variety of client situations.
  • Prepare complex compilation (Notice to Reader) files.
  • Prepare personal (T1), trust (T3), and corporate (T2) income tax returns.
  • Provide comprehensive client accounting services.
  • Leverage technology for continuous learning and enhanced service delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • University degree with an excellent GPA.
  • Successful completion of the CFE (Common Final Examination) at minimum.
  • 2-4 years of Canadian public accounting experience, focusing on private corporations, review engagements, and NTR files.
  • Expertise in preparing T1, T2, and T3 tax returns.
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE and tax compliance/planning.
  • Familiarity with accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, CaseWare, and Taxprep.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written), with proficiency in a second language being an asset.
  • Self-starter with attention to detail, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction.
