Senior Staff Accountant

Successful candidate will apply firm practices to perform various types of engagements, including audit, review and tax return preparation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Preparation of year-end working paper files and financial statements in audit and review engagements.
  • Preparation of year-end working paper files and financial statements in compilation engagements.
  • Preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns, and other types of returns as required.
  • Working closely with staff at varying levels from Staff Accountant to Partner.
  • Engaging with clients, as needed, to gather required information to complete assigned tasks.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • 3+ years of public accounting firm experience.
  • Canadian CPA designation.
  • Knowledge of ASPE, ASNPO, Income Tax Act and Excise Tax Act.
  • Being a self-starter and results driven.
  • Highly effective written, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of CaseWare is required.
  • Knowledge of
    Taxprep or similar tax preparation software, iFirm and Doc.it is an asset.
  • Desire to work in office.
  • Access to a vehicle is an asset.

Location

This is a hybrid remote position whereby successful candidate will be expected to work from our office located in Guelph, Ontario, 3 days per week and 2 days per week will be available for working from home. Approval of any remote work arrangement is in the sole discretion of the employer.
