Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Software Engineer in Markham, Ontario to join a data-intensive .NET product team. You will design and build both UI and backend using C#, Blazor, EF Core and SQL Server, focusing on database design and high-volume data processing.

You will work with AI-assisted development tools and participate in design reviews, estimates and testing, delivering complex features with a high degree of autonomy in a cohesive product engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in database development.
• Advanced or expert-level C# and .NET skills.
• Expert-level SQL skills including T-SQL and SQL Server.
• Hands-on experience developing full-stack web apps with C# and Blazor.
• Experience with Visual Studio.
• Experience using AI development or data-processing tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Ability to work independently and deliver complex features with limited supervision.
• Working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and build UI and backend of .NET web applications.
• Develop features using C#, Blazor, ASP.NET and EF Core.
• Design and query relational databases using SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Prepare estimates and justify them with clear reasoning.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews.
• Explain design decisions to technical stakeholders.
• Independently implement complex processes with limited supervision.
• Assess options and make informed design decisions.
• Define milestones and testing processes.
• Write thorough unit tests following team standards.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to process large data volumes.
• Contribute to milestone-driven delivery.
