Job description

ABOUT THE POSITION :

The position is suitable for experienced practitioners who are able to work independently and are excited to build our Allied Health team in NSW! The successful candidate will be involved in building the NSW speech pathology team and referral base, with remote support from SAL Consulting Speech Pathologists in other states and territories. On-ground support will also be provided by the wider trans-disciplinary team across SAL Consulting.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to improve lives by delivering high-quality, person-centred services to a range of clients with varying care needs, from short-term to complex long-term cases. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assessing, diagnosing, and managing clients with communication and swallowing disorders;
  • Providing client support through clinic or home-based sessions, training, and resource development;
  • Working with low and high-tech assistive communication devices (ACC).

Our office is based in Pennant Hills. The role requires regular travel around Sydney metro and occasional regional travel. There are also opportunities for interstate or remote projects, and the option to work from home for administration and report writing.

The successful candidate will have access to Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) training through SAL Consulting.

Skills And Experiences

Essential Criteria :

  • A degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Desirable Experience, Interests, and Skills :

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or trauma who have complex needs;
  • Experience in communication assessments, treatment planning, and intervention for children, adolescents, and adults with diverse presentations; and Mealtime Management.
  • Experience in supervision and mentoring of staff.
  • Due to the nature of our work, staff are required to :

  • Hold a current Driver’s Licence;
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening or have the ability to obtain these.
