Our mission of "Empowering YOU to be YOU, one outfit at a time" is brought to life through the GARAGE and DYNAMITE banners and represents the consumer-centric core of GDI's long-standing success as a leading retailer in North America.

Today, GDI operates nearly 300 stores across Canada and the United States, as well as shoppable brand experiences at Garageclothing.com and Dynamiteclothing.com.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Team Lead, Social Media for Garage, you will act as the frontline voice for the brand by creating social media content that supports its campaigns and product launches. Passionate about Gen Z pop culture, fashion, and social media, you will drive follower growth and engagement through the daily creation of innovative, on-trend content.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop an innovative social media strategy and content plans for all platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Facebook) to drive traffic to the website, increase engagement, and build brand awareness;
  • Oversee all video and photo content creation for social media, including performing photography, videography, and video editing. Oversee the planning of all social dedicated photoshoots, including art direction and execution, with possible participation in campaign photoshoots;
  • Oversee the development and planning of all brand-owned social media channels. Create and oversee all content briefs for cross-functional departments. Plan daily and seasonal calendars that align with 360 marketing initiatives. Oversee all social media content and present it to cross-functional partners for approval;
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and yearly social media reporting and performance monitoring. Leverage native social media insights and Google Analytics to report on all social media metrics. Analyze these results to optimize strategies with key learnings. Contribute to monthly and quarterly post-mortem reporting;
  • Work with cross-functional teams (E-commerce, Merchandise, Styling, PR, Creative, and Paid Media) to ensure brand alignment. Plan upcoming business needs and share information with the rest of the Social Media team;
  • Oversee social media communities daily via feeds and DMs, and expand the community management strategies. Communicate any community feedback and key learnings with cross-functional teams, with some off-hour community management required;
  • Stay on the pulse of emerging social media trends, platform updates, content creators, industry trends, and Gen Z pop culture trends that are relevant for the brand’s customers;
  • Schedule and post content onto social media channels, with some off-hour posting required;
  • Support the Social Media team (Social Media Specialist and Junior Social Media specialist);
  • Oversee the social media budget and develop relationships with external partners while exploring business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field;
  • 5 to 7 years of related work experience;
  • Experience in social media publishing and reporting platforms;
  • Experience in photography and video editing is a requirement;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, and Google Workspace;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with bilingualism (French and English) required for daily communication with suppliers, employees, and stakeholders, both within and outside of Quebec;
  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills;
  • Strong ability to multitask;
  • Ability to work well with little supervision;
  • Available to travel if required;
  • Available to work in a hybrid work environment (4 days in the office, 1 day at home).

Assets:

  • Thrive in the face of change with a strong sense of urgency;
  • Challenge the status quo by contributing impactful and innovative ideas and solutions;
  • Be both creative and business savvy;
  • Build partnerships and prioritize collaboration;
  • Be proactive and exceed expected results.

At GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you:

  • A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance-driven bonuses;
  • A group retirement savings program with employer matching;
  • Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs;
  • An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite;
  • Exclusive private sample sales;
  • A flexible vacation policy;
  • And more!
