Qualifications

The salary range for this position is $151,000 to $190,000 per annum. Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including education, relevant experience, skills, location, and qualifications.

Your Role:

This role involves key responsibilities aligned with your career growth and our core values:

  1. Conduct billable project work through staged senior reviews from inception to final analysis, design, and deliverables.
  2. Lead engineering teams to deliver projects on time and within budget, performing staged reviews and supporting technical improvements.
  3. Stay updated with industry best practices and identify methodologies to improve delivery and provide innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.
  4. Demonstrate leadership in quality assurance, ensuring high standards in deliverables and emphasizing quality in technical and project management aspects.
  5. Mentor staff through active training and development, guiding their technical careers.
  6. Foster innovation, share knowledge, publish technical papers, and encourage conference participation.
  7. Adhere to internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  8. Pursue continuous professional development and maintain technical expertise.
  9. Work safely at all times, reporting health and safety concerns.
  10. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Geological or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • An advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) is an asset.
  • 18–25 years of mining industry or consulting engineering experience, preferably in a mine consulting environment.
  • Technical leadership in open pit mining geomechanics, with experience in all levels of engineering studies.
  • Extensive knowledge of geological analysis, rock strength, failure mechanisms, stability analyses, reinforcement, kinematics, stress analyses, and numerical modeling.
  • Proficiency in geological modeling software and 2D/3D geotechnical modeling.
  • Experience managing field programs and site exploration activities.
  • Proven project management skills and ability to oversee team work.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and a drive for high-quality standards and innovation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team orientation, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Client management experience, mentorship skills, and a positive attitude.
  • Business development experience in consulting engineering.
  • Prioritizes health and safety in all activities.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
  • Valid driver’s license.
