Job Description

As an experienced project manager, writer and editor, you will coordinate digital writing projects from conception to conclusion. Crafting compelling narrative, you will help position Sinai Health as a global leader in breakthrough research, patient-centred programs and compassionate care across our web properties.

As Senior Specialist, you will play an integral role on the Corporate Communications team as a subject matter expert, relationship builder and coordinator of projects. You will work effectively across a diverse group of clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to support the strategic priorities of Sinai Health and its clinical programs. Join our team to help ensure consistency across our websites, while optimizing content for search and accessibility.

This role sits on the Corporate Communications team and reports to the Senior Manager, Digital Communications. About the Corporate Communications team
The Corporate Communications team builds, drives and sustains Sinai Health’s reputation through effective communication and engagement with our stakeholder groups.


In this role you will:

  • Work in close partnership with the Senior Specialist, Digital Communications (developer) to ensure the Sinai Health websites deliver high-quality content, design and functionality to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be the first point of contact for digital communication writing projects to engage with subject matter experts to write evidenced-based, audience-centric and accessible digital content for Sinai Health
  • Conduct audits, environmental scans and participate in requirement gathering discussions for large-scale writing projects
  • Apply expertise on how to optimize content for search engines and write with accessibility in mind
  • Monitor and produce project plans, schedules, budgets and weekly status reports to ensure projects stay on course
  • Employ data, analytics and critical thinking to contribute to the process of continuous improvement of work
Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Mandatory

  • Successful completion of a degree/diploma from an accredited educational institution in a relevant discipline e.g., Communications, Journalism
  • A minimum of 5 years recent and related experience working in a complex, fast-paced organization


Preferred

  • Previous experience within the health-care sector
  • Previous experience managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders


Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven editing and writing skills with superior attention-to-detail and a high level of accountability
  • Working knowledge of search engine optimization best practices
  • Ability to build relationships with individuals across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders in a professional, diplomatic and confident manner
  • Extremely organized with excellent project- and time-management skills, with the proven ability to manage competing demands
  • Advanced practice of:
    • Microsoft Office programs (like Word and Excel)
    • Project management tools (like Asana)
    • Search engine optimization applications (like Mangools)
    • Accessibility tools (like Hemmingway Projects and Siteimprove)
    • Content management systems (such as Drupal and WordPress)
