Job description

The Senior Specialist, Communications and Outreach, reports to the Director, Outreach and Communications, Office of the President, SunLife Quebec. They support public relations activities, executive outreach within the Quebec market, internal communications, sponsorships, philanthropy, and francization for the Office of the President, SunLife Quebec. The role involves writing engaging communications for internal and external audiences, managing event planning and logistics, conducting analyses, monitoring performance indicators, and working on strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement public relations, executive outreach within Quebec, internal communications, sponsorships, philanthropy, and francization strategies.
  2. Support project management and event logistics, ensuring follow-up with stakeholders and coordinating internal processes.
  3. Create and execute integrated communication plans tailored to target audiences and channels, including social media, media outreach, speeches, presentations, advertising, and updates.
  4. Identify media opportunities and suggest proactive approaches.
  5. Manage the editorial calendar and develop social media tactics to highlight initiatives.
  6. Establish indicators to track project effectiveness and results.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in communications, marketing, or media relations; experience in financial services is a plus.
  • Strong communication and marketing skills, understanding internal/external audiences and media needs.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to experiment with visual and creative strategies; PowerPoint skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to network within the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, multitask, and deliver results on time.
  • Bilingual in French and English.

The successful candidate must be able to work in SunLife’s Montreal office as required.
