The Specialist, Clinical Application, manages the clinical implementation and ongoing evaluation of the Organ Allocation Information System (OAIS) to meet the needs of TGLN and external users. Responsibilities include coordinating clinical requirements/enhancements, aligning workflows, coordinating UAT, developing education on OAIS use, and resolving clinical concerns.

There are 2 positions available: 1 permanent full-time and 1 full-time contract.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Serve as SME and initial contact for TGLN PRC-Organ and Transplant staff, external transplant program staff, and lab personnel (end-users of OAIS)
  • Gather, review, and confirm business requirements and workflows from end users for functionality, data, reports, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, system performance, and data sources
  • Develop recommendations for system design, including user interface for patient registration, organ allocation, and outcomes
  • Understand stakeholder challenges and propose solutions to meet business needs
  • Use research and evidence-based practices to recommend best practices, streamline workflows, and optimize system performance within OAIS capabilities
  • Identify and develop process and system improvements for efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Prepare business documentation adhering to deadlines, including Business Requirements, Functional and UI Specifications, and process flows
  • Act as liaison with OAIS vendor for issue resolution and system enhancements
  • Manage stakeholder relationships through feedback, updates, and collaboration with IT vendors
  • Lead testing, UAT, and change management processes
  • Work with end users to ensure requirements are met and changes are effective
  • Define and manage clinical change requests and coordinate with IT teams
  • Develop metrics for quality monitoring and improvements
  • Maintain documentation of workflows and system updates
  • Provide status updates to leadership
  • Participate in stakeholder forums and steering committees
  • Develop training materials and support continuous improvement

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health discipline (e.g., BScN, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration)
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent experience in organ donation/transplantation or equivalent experience and education
Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience in educational material development and delivery
  • Leadership in educational initiatives
  • Experience working with IT project teams and clinical leadership
  • Change management experience, including process documentation and communication
  • Experience with project teams defining requirements, workflows, and testing
  • Proficiency in documentation, metrics development, and system change implementation
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, adaptable
  • Interest in health information systems design
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, diagramming, presentation software
  • Knowledge of TOTAL and iTransplant preferred
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
