Senior Solutions Architect (m / f / d) - AMERICAS

Ververica is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our Customer Success team in North America. In this technical role, you will design, implement, and optimize real-time data streaming solutions, focusing on Apache Flink and Ververica's Streaming Data Platform. You will collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams, utilizing your expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native technologies to deliver impactful solutions.

This role involves providing professional services, including hands-on technical implementation, architecture consulting, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and design scalable, reliable stream-processing solutions.
• Support technical implementation and deploy Apache Flink and Ververica's platform in pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept implementations to validate solutions.
• Provide architectural guidance, conduct technical reviews, and promote best practices.
• Deliver professional services such as technical training, workshops, and performance optimization.
• Act as an expert on Apache Flink, real-time stream processing, and distributed architectures.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, reference architectures, and best-practice guides.
• Stay informed on emerging streaming technologies, cloud platforms, and data engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to share insights and influence platform improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years in professional services, consulting, or solutions architecture.
• At least 5 years working with distributed systems, data engineering, or software architecture, including 2+ years specializing in Apache Flink.
• Strong Java proficiency; experience with Python and SQL is a plus.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Deep knowledge of cloud deployment architectures; experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Expertise in performance tuning, monitoring, debugging, and optimizing distributed data pipelines.
• Experience conducting technical workshops and delivering professional services.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred qualifications include experience with managed stream-processing services (e.g., Amazon Managed Service for Apache Flink), familiarity with data serialization formats, and contributions to open-source projects.
