Job summary

Ultra Maritime is seeking an experienced Senior Software Tester to modernize our software test strategy across Linux-based and Docker deployments. The role blends manual testing, automation, and strategic test planning in a hybrid office setting with in-person requirements.

You will support test engineering, automation initiatives, and manual execution while helping build a stable automated test environment adopted across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6+ years in a complex engineering environment.
• Experience with Linux and test methodologies; ability to write and execute manual tests.
• Familiarity with defect tracking (JIRA) and basic automation scripting.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and document processes clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review functionality and design specifications to understand deliverables.
• Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and artifacts.
• Execute manual test cases and analyze results.
• Identify test scenarios suitable for automation and assist in writing basic scripts.
• Identify, document, and track bugs using a defect tracking system.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Triage defects with development to set priority and severity.
• Collaborate with developers and system engineers to understand requirements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert during documentation reviews.
• Facilitate test automation and code review across departments.
