Senior Software Reliability Engineer - Data Platform

Okta is seeking a Senior Software Reliability Engineer to join its fast-growing Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of industry experience, with 2+ years in an object-oriented language like Java, and hands-on experience with cloud-based distributed computing technologies including Kinesis, Kafka, Flink, Spark, Beam, Snowflake, Databricks, Hadoop, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and owning data-intensive, high-performance scalable platform components, working with cross-functional teams, conducting design and code reviews, mentoring engineers, and debugging production issues. The role requires expertise in reliability engineering, with a focus on data quality, observability, and incident management. Experience with security, encryption, identity management, or authentication infrastructure is a plus.

The position offers a competitive annual base salary range of $136,000-$187,000 CAD for Canadian candidates, with additional benefits including equity, bonuses, and comprehensive health coverage. The role is hybrid, with opportunities to work from Okta’s global offices.
