Description

Fortinet is seeking an experienced intermediate to senior QA Engineer with strong QA skills and writing abilities to join our Ottawa office.

As a Software Dev QA Engineer, you will:

• Execute regression testing on Fortinet products using manual and automated testing techniques.
• Create, maintain, and execute test specifications and test cases.
• Write scripts to automate test cases.
• Identify, document, and track software defects found during testing.
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure defects are correctly identified and resolved.
• Work with technical writers to document deployment processes and troubleshooting steps.

We are looking for:

• At least 5 years of experience in software testing or network administration.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP routing, switching, VoIP, and PSTN.
• Strong experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of OpenSSL, Apache, Asterisk, Iptables, MySQL, Tcpdump, and Wireshark.
• Good knowledge of security concepts such as firewalls, encryption, PKI, and x509 certificates.
• Scripting skills in Bash, Perl, or PHP are desirable.
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware, KVM, or Xen is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software logically and analytically.
• Ability to write clear and reproducible test plans, problem reports, and test results.
• Knowledge of general QA procedures, methodologies, and software development fundamentals.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Computer Science or equivalent.
