Job summary

Dialpad is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain features that enhance customers’ day-to-day communication. You’ll work with customers and teams to drive high-impact projects that blend hardware solutions with our cloud platform.

The role reports to Hardware Engineering Manager in a hybrid setup, with a Vancouver office option. You’ll join a team delivering industry-leading calling workflows and robust device management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Python or other structured languages.
• Experience with both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Experience with databases and RESTful APIs.
• Expertise in unit testing and code quality.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/UDP).
• Experience with version control systems (Git).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions interfacing with VoIP devices (IP phones, SIP adapters, ATA adapters, DECT base stations).
• Design and implement features for device management in the UI.
• Troubleshoot production or customer-related device issues.
• Write and maintain unit tests for device integration software.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into specs.
• Work with QA across the full feature lifecycle.
