Job summary

General Motors is seeking a skilled Simulation Engineer to develop and implement vehicle ECUs, actuators, chassis, and tires models. You will help build scalable simulation architectures and work with GM experts to validate models and drive performance improvements.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and have at least three years of experience in vehicle modeling, with strong Python and C/C++ programming, plus Matlab/Simulink and data analysis experience.

Qualifications

• A bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related area.
• At least 3 years of experience in the vehicle modeling domain.
• Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink, System ID studies, model validation, and data analysis.

Remote/Hybrid

Candidates can be considered anywhere in the country of work, but if someone is within 80 KM of a hub, they are required to be onsite 3 days a week.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement simulation components that model vehicle ECUs, actuators, chassis, and tires.
• Develop scalable simulation architectures to support a large number of host vehicle models.
• Collaborate with Vehicle dynamics and actuation technical experts across GM.

Your Skills and Abilities

• A bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related area, and at least 3 years of experience in the vehicle modeling domain.
• Expertise in vehicle system modeling and simulation (powertrain, suspension, steering, brakes, chassis controls, etc.)
• Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink, System ID studies, model validation, and data analysis.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $ 115,000 to $ 164,600. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
