Job summary

BlueMatrix is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to lead a team and deliver client-facing components within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will mentor engineers, participate in hiring, shape architecture, and own sprint planning while contributing code across front-end and back-end stacks. The role emphasizes engineering excellence, reliable REST APIs, and scalable systems using ReactJS, Java, PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with 1–2+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience designing scalable, production-ready systems and REST APIs.
• Comfortable contributing to frontend and/or backend codebases as needed.
• Strong understanding of modern development practices, architecture patterns, and tooling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, fostering innovation, ownership, and collaboration.
• Conduct 1:1s, coaching, feedback, and professional development support.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team growth strategies including performance reviews.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code and unblock engineering challenges.
• Guide architecture, code reviews, and technical decision-making for quality delivery.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and stakeholders to define and deliver solutions.
• Own team-level sprint planning, delivery timelines, and status reporting.
• Ensure timely delivery of epics and manage technical dependencies and risks.
• Champion engineering best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement in tools, workflows, and processes; help define long-term tech strategy.
