Job summary

Mastercard in Vancouver seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance the Authorization Decisioning product within a global payments network. You will focus on quality engineering, building scalable backend services, and contributing to API-driven architectures with Java and Spring Boot.

You will design automated test frameworks, develop functional and performance tests, and mentor peers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment to deliver secure, reliable software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with API-driven architectures and REST APIs.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, RestAssured, JUnit/TestNG and Cucumber/JBehave/Karate.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git for version control.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test frameworks and reusable test suites.
• Develop functional, integration, API, regression, end-to-end, and performance tests.
• Participate in requirements reviews, story grooming, and sprint planning activities.
• Define and document test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with developers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results and provide quality metrics and recommendations.
• Ensure software meets business, security, scalability, and performance requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote quality engineering best practices.
• Participate in release validation, deployment verification, and production readiness activities.
