Senior Software Engineer (Python) [14103]
We are recruiting a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in supporting our client in the automotive industry.
Note: Onsite position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop software for next-generation connected vehicles, emphasizing middleware applications connecting Electronic Control Units.
- Work in an Agile environment supporting software system integration using modern automotive standards and technologies.
- Coordinate, integrate, and test operating system and software components with internal and external teams and vendors.
- Define, implement, and test suites using Python.
- Support development and enhancement of integration tools with Python.
- Perform manual tests to aid software development.
- Contribute ideas for innovation and process improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or related field (proof of degree required; if outside Canada, an Education Credential Assessment showing Canadian equivalency).
- 5+ years of experience in testing and Python development.
- Experience in software development through the full development lifecycle.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR, CAN technologies, automotive diagnostic protocols.
- Experience with build systems (Jenkins), source control (GitHub), and defect tracking (JIRA).
- Experience with Git, Eclipse or similar IDE, and Docker.
- Experience in embedded software integration.
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocols and tools like Wireshark.
- Knowledge of MQTT and service-oriented architectures.
- Ability to work in a multi-site team, self-driven and motivated.
- Proactive learning attitude towards new tools and technologies.
