Job summary

Workday is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead pay-related features and build scalable services. You will own design, implementation, and reliability across core modules like Jobs, Worker Provisioning, Contracts, and Integrations.

You’ll mentor teammates, write high-quality code, and collaborate on architecture within a Python/React/AWS stack, while adapting to ambiguous requirements and delivering iteratively.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of RESTful web services design/build experience.
• 3+ years of relational DB experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Proficiency in Python and a Python web framework (Django/Flask).
• Strong experience with React.js.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design and own the pay-related features as a technical leader.
• Hands-on development, owning design, scalability, and resilience of critical services.
• Address onboarding, management, and payments for contingent workers.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and build robust solutions using Python, React, and AWS.
